The Pariah 2023-24

Our executive team and production staff!

  • Hey! My name is Kashvi Ramani. I am the head of the Pariah this year, as well as a Class of 2024 member at Andover. I am a boarder who lives in Adams House on campus, but I am originally from Northern Virginia, just south of Washington D.C. I am currently the Arlington Youth Poet Laureate and a YoungArts 2022 Finalist. I primarily write poetry, scripts, and songs, but write creatively in every aspect possible. I joined The Pariah because I love the exchange of ideas and seeing new pieces in their rawest forms. Any way I can contribute to making artists' works the best they can be is ideal!

  • Hello! My name is Catherine Kazmer. I am the Editor-in-Chief of The Pariah, and in the class of 2024 at Phillips Academy Andover. While I mainly write poetry, I also enjoy exploring other genres. I love editing because I believe that writing is inherently personal, and in each piece a writer creates, they convey a crucial part of themself and their view on the world. Through The Pariah, I am thrilled to help writers work towards the fullest expression of their vision.

  • Hi! My name is Anny Wang ’26 and I am a technology manager/graphic designer for the Pariah. I am an international student from Shanghai, China. On campus, I love making music with my friends and am part of the Goose and Moose Jazz band!

I love creative writing and I love being a reader as well. The Pariah allows me to explore the parallels between creative writing and my identities. I am so excited to learn more about your stories and make new friends through this amazing community!

  • Hi! I’m Sophie Tung from Hong Kong, and I’m the social media manager/creative director for The Pariah. I am in the class of 2025 at Philips Academy Andover and, on campus, I live in Chase House. I joined The Pariah because I love reading and writing (mostly fiction consisting of aliens and robots). I hope that collaborating with writers can motivate me and inspire my creativity.

Past Editors

The Pariah 2023-24

Introducing this year’s editor board!

  • Hello! My name is Adz Morales (She/her). I edit for The Pariah, and I am class of 2025 at Phillips Academy Andover. As a writer, I dabble usually in creative non-fiction and short stories. However, I really enjoy reading and editing poems. I like editing for the Pariah because I get to work and build a relationship one-on-one with my authors, so they can feel supported while showcasing their pieces.

  • Hi! My name is Bailey Xu and I’m an editor for The Pariah. I’m part of Phillips Academy Andover’s class of 2026 and on campus, I live in Johnson Hall. I decided to join The Pariah because I love reading and exploring different writers’ voices and ideas. I mainly write fiction prose, but I’ve dabbled in some poetry as well.

  • Hey! I'm Eliza and I am a member of the class of 2026 at Phillips Academy Andover. Kentucky will always remain my home, but I have been fortunate enough to find a second home in Johnson House on campus. I fell in love with writing as a way to convey ideas that can be difficult to say, though come to life when seen on paper (or a screen). Editing for The Pariah has made me fall in love with editing process as well: collaborating with writers, learning from their creativity, and sharing our most vulnerable selves within a safe, supportive community.

  • Hello hello! I’m Michela (all pronouns) and I’m currently an editor for The Pariah. I’m big into poetry, flash fiction, and creative nonfiction. I think that annotated dialogue between writers and editors/readers in the margins of a piece is the prettiest thing, which is why I’m here!

  • My name is Noel (she/her) and I am a returning lower from Pennsylvania. I am an editor for The Pariah and I primarily enjoy writing creative nonfiction or short stories!

  • I'm Saumik (he/they) and I’m a lower from the quaint yet chaotic city of Kathmandu, Nepal. I love falling asleep to the sound of sitcoms! Also, I'm new to Andover this year, and as a huge humanities geek, I'm helplessly obsessed with philosophy, languages, and anthropology. And of course, I like writing too!

  • Hi! My name is Sophie, and I’m a day student in the class of 2025 at Phillips Academy Andover. I joined The Pariah as an editor because I enjoy collaborating with others to help them express their ideas. I think that writing is a powerful means to share one’s experiences and ideas, and anyone can be a writer, because everyone has something to share. I mainly write poetry and enjoy reading, especially historical fiction, dystopian, and poetry.

  • Hello, I am Esmé Young, one of the Editor-in-Chief’s of the Pariah, and part of the class of 2023 at Phillips Academy Andover! I created this magazine in hopes to foster a creative writing community on their campus. I write primarily speculative fiction, including short stories, novels, and screenplays. I am incredibly proud of the work within our collection.

  • Hi! My name is William Boo, and I am the one of your Editor-in-Chiefs for The Pariah. I am in the class of 2023 at Phillips Academy Andover and live in Foxcroft Hall. Originally, though, I am from Millburn, New Jersey. I love The Pariah for its creative and welcoming energy; after every meeting or assignment, I feel more inspired than before. I most often write poetry, but I enjoy writing short stories as well.

  • Hi I’m Donoma! I’m the Secretary of The Pariah and manager of our social media. I write mostly poetry and short fiction. Around campus you can usually find me in a theater classroom or hanging around the lobby of the library!

  • Hi! I’m Jackie, and I’m a technology manager at The Pariah (I also help out here and there with graphic design every now and then)! I’m a senior from Singapore, and I’ve loved writing—specifically, working with prose—ever since middle school. Around campus, you can find me working with other publications and enjoying my senior spring.
